What problems does
ULSD cause?

Water
This new fuel can hold up to
25 times more water
than previous diesel. This water comes from many
sources. Delivery of contaminated fuel. Condensation
on the inside of your storage tank caused by heat
and dropping fuel levels. Ingress of water through
poor or damaged tanks.
|
How to solve these problems
Ensure your tank is in
good condition.
You
may need to wash out or replace your storage
tank to remove any contamination.
|
Bacteria
This new bio diesel
promotes the growth of microbes,
microbes feed on the fuel and suspended water
which allows them to multiply and form colonies.
These colonies can be seen as sludge that sits on
the bottom of your tank and subsequently blocks
filters. It also causes excessive exhaust smoke and
reduces output from the engine. |
Install filters on your storage tank. Large
range of
dirt and water filters available. From 30 micron
down to 5 micron.
